Frequently Asked
Have a Question?
Below are some frequently asked questions and answers, if you still can’t find what you are looking for please contact me.
What is microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent brow tattoo that allows to maintain the client’s individual facial features.
It is fine delicate hair like stroke incisions into the skin performed by using a single use disposable tiny blade type tool – micro needle (microblade).
The hair like strokes will follow your bone and brow structure mimicking your natural eyebrow hair & flow.
Microblading allows for a more natural-looking style of brow.
What are the benefits of microblading?
Stacey has found her customers all have different reasons for wanting microblading for example, some have short, thin, patchy, or sparse brows while some just want a more defined look. Other reasons include:
- Very sporty/active ppl who don’t want their brows to sweat off
- People who want to enhance their current features
- People who do not have a steady hand or are losing their eyesight
- Anyone with thinning or no eyebrows.
- People who have had a loss of hair due to alopecia or chemotherapy
- Cosmetic tattooing can increase confidence and self esteem
- Decrease time on your beauty regime
- Never having to worry about a bad brow day
What are Philbrows?
There are only a select few in the Gold Coast who have trained in this style of microblading.
The Phibrow microblading technique allows for a more natural looking brow.
How long will the treatment last?
Each individual may experience different results, this depends on factors such as medication, sun exposure, skincare, professional skin treatments, and skin type as no one’s skin is the same.
Some clients may need a touch up at 6 months and some may last 12-18 months.
Longevity of pigment can also vary depending on how well your skin holds the pigment.
I recommend that a colour boost is booked no longer then 12-18 months to keep enhancements looking fresh.
Who is cosmetic tattooing and Microblading NOT suitable for?
- Pregnant and breast-feeding mothers (however please feel free to make a pre-consultation appointment for when you are ready – this is what I did after I had my twins and loved the feeling of knowing I had all my beauty appointments locked in)
- Chemotherapy patients
- Problem skin and acne in the area of treatment
- Excessive sebum and oily skin
- Keratosis
- Diabetics
- Seborrhoea dermatitis
- Extremely sensitive and or dry skin
- Temporarily sunburnt skin
- If you are taking Roaccutane and other certain medication which can be discussed at the pre-consultation
- Some individuals with previous tattooing – please book for a pre-consultation to discuss (photos may be required before appointment booked)
- Cosmetic injectables within two weeks of the cosmetic tattoo
- Anyone under the age of 18
Will it hurt?
This depends on your individual pain threshold, some have explained it to feel like a scratch or a slight discomfort like a stinging sensation which is tolerable, however some explained it as more of an “annoying” feeling more than anything.
Anaesthetic is used to numb the treatment during the procedure.
How are the colours selected?
Stacey will colour match your brow hair colour to the pigment.
The pigment used is 100% free of heavy metals including iron oxide. It is also free of Tatrazine which lessens the potential for an allergic reaction and is hydrophobic, which means it will not migrate under the skin, making the hair strokes much sharper in appearance.
How long will the appointment take?
Stacey recommends you allow 2.5 hours. Stacey does not rush and she allocates time not only for the procedure however for any questions you may have following your pre-consultation.
Within this time Stacey ensures that your brows are designed to suit you, a digital photo is taken to check symmetry and from there the microblading will start.
Stacey will run through the aftercare at the end.
Touch up appointments are for approximately 1 hour unless advised differently.
Why choose Beautifully Enhanced?
To artistically produce exceptionally delicate and natural looking semi-permanent make up at an advanced level, it is all about skill, trust, science, art, ongoing development, patience and an understanding of the customer’s needs – book a consultation with Stacey and see for yourself that beautifully enhanced is the right fit for you.
What will my eyebrows look like after my Microblading procedure?
Immediately after Microblading the colour will appear much darker and thicker then you may have expected however this will soften as your skin heals and the pigment chosen enters the deeper layers of the skin.
Within 7-14 days exfoliation takes place, a top layer of skin will peel off and renew itself leaving a lighter colour (up to 40%) and also the area treated will shrink (up to 15%). The result is a more natural beautifully enhanced brow.
Please use recommended treatment cream after procedure to ensure a great result is achieved.
How long will my skin take to recover?
Each individual can differ however usually the healing process can take up to 7-14 days.
The pigment will settle in a month – giving time for the follow up appointment if required.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes. A deposit of $100.00 will be required to secure your appointment time.
Could I have an allergic reaction?
A skin patch test is offered at the pre-consultation appointment. An allergic reaction is very rare.
Please be aware an allergic reaction to pigments can not only occur immediately after the appointment however can manifest years later weather or not a skin patch test is performed.
How do you shape my brows?
Can I bring children, friends or family to the appointment?
Unfortunately, children, friends, and family are not able to attend the appointment – 100% focus needs to be on the treatment. This is also for health and safety reasons. This time is for you to relax.
